L'essentiel cutting board butter was formulated for all things timber in your kitchen.
Did you know the owner of L'essentiel is a Chef? He gave the big thumbs up to this cutting board butter when it was formulated. There is no smell and no residual to taint the timber board. It absorbs easily, a little goes a very long way and it is a great way to keep your cutting boards and timber utensils nourished. Nourishing the boards will also assist in them not absorbing nasty odours.
Firstly clean your board. Depending on the grime factor, use a little bit of unscented castile soap to clean. Castile is perfect as it won't taint your board and is a great general purpose cleaner.
If there are odours on your board, the easiest way to freshen it up is with half a lemon and some salt. Rub the lemon on the salt, then rub this all over your cutting board.
Once cleaned with the lemon and salt, rinse and allow to dry in the sun. There is nothing like a good dose of sunshine to dry out your board. Locking in the excess moisture from washing the board isn't a great idea.
Once completely dry, use a small amount of Cutting board butter to nourish the board. At this point, you could also use a little hemp infusion oil first. The choice is completely yours. Sometimes our boards get a deep nourishing by using both.
Please note: both of these products contain nut oils. Be mindful of this if you have a nut allergy.
Allow your cutting board butter to absorb into the board, and voila, your board will be like new, all fresh and no nasty overpowering smells..
Just like that, your board will be like new and as fresh as a daisy.
This product will not taint your timber with an odour or scent that is undesirable for food preparation.
