Some Q&A's with Carrie from Chic n' Shabby in Yarra Junction.

Anthony Mills

Name of your business?

Chic n' Shabby
How long have been painting furniture?

About 18 years

What inspired you to paint and relove furniture?

When we bought our first home, I started painting our own furniture to 'lighten' it up as everything was dark timber!

Do you have a particular style you paint in?

Yes, I absolutely love French provincial.

What has been your biggest painting disaster to date?

My first experience with dark wax was a complete disaster, before I found L'essentiel, I almost ruined a beautiful Sideboard I had painted using another brand that was very toxic.

Why did you decide to stock L'essentiel?
Simply because every product is Eco Approved, Aussie made & Owned, easy to use and does exactly what it says.
I also wanted to support a small business, like myself, who could offer their support and product knowledge when needed, which I believe is so important in creating a friendly working relationship.

What is your biggest paint tip you are willing to share with our readers?

Don't be afraid to try, painting should be enjoyable, with the correct knowledge and quality products anything is possible.
